Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

The 12th Our Ocean Conference will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada from May 9-11, 2027.

Bringing together governments, Indigenous Peoples, international organizations, academia, business, philanthropy, youth leaders, and civil society, the conference will advance ambitious and measurable action for a healthy, productive, and resilient ocean.

As a nation bordered by the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic Oceans, and home to the world's longest coastline, Canada has a deep and enduring relationship with the ocean. The conference will highlight the critical role of ocean action in addressing climate change, conserving biodiversity, supporting sustainable livelihoods, and strengthening global prosperity.

The Government of Canada will work with global partners to accelerate blue finance, including innovative financial mechanisms that help direct capital toward resilient coastal communities and healthy ocean ecosystems.

Canada will also host the first ever Global Indigenous Summit, held alongside the conference. This will bring together Indigenous Peoples from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss shared priorities for the future of ocean stewardship, conservation and blue finance.

Located on the Atlantic coast of Canada, the host city of Halifax is a globally recognized centre for ocean science, innovation, maritime industries, and marine conservation.
